General Statement of Duties:

Will assume 24-hour responsibility for the coordination and direction of the stroke and chest pain programs throughout Northeast Methodist Hospital . Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the stroke and chest pain protocols. He/she directs, plans, and facilitates all protocols for care of the stroke or chest pain patient in collaboration with the medical staff, sub-specialists, nursing and medical teams, and ancillary services. Must ensure that the stroke and chest pain protocols are in constant compliance with JCAHO, State, Society of Chest Pain Centers, and other regulatory agencies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum three years of hospital nursing experience in Critical Care or Emergency nursing required. Must have recent experience and proficiency with computer databases, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.

Minimum License and Certificates Required:
Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas . NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 6 weeks of hire.
