Manager UNIX Operations and Engineering

Manages a team of associates (from associate to principle associate level) ranging in size from 3-8 FTE. Has ownership of the production process and is accountable for capacity management and process performance. Accountable for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements. Leverages process management and relationship management expertise to collaborate with the value chain in order to drive cross-functional improvements.

Summary: Manages a team of associates (from associate to principle associate level) ranging in size from 3-8 FTE. Has ownership of the production process and is accountable for capacity management and process performance. Accountable for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements. Leverages process management and relationship management expertise to collaborate with the value chain in order to drive cross-functional improvements.  This is a Manager Position on the UNIX Operations and Engineering Team. Looking for a leader that has an infrastructure/operations background specific to UNIX but having a broad skill set is ideal. Storage, Vmware, Networking. Does require on call rotation, and the expectation is this candidate has "been there, done that" in UNIX and not just managed people. The candidate should have the technical background to lead and direct the team as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • At Least 1 year of experience in People management
  • At Least 1 year of experience in Operations
  • At Least 1 year of experience in Software development
  • At Least 1 year of experience in Process management
  • At Least 1 year of experience in Risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Lean and BPM certifications
  • 2 + years' of experience in People management
  • 2 + years' of experience in Operations
