Amgen is looking for a Manufacturing Associate that, under general supervision from the Manufacturing Manager, will be the primary responsible individual and liaison with cross functional expertise for electronic systems and databases used within operations at Thousand Oaks B7 EpogenĀ® (EPO) commercial manufacturing. These systems include, but are not limited to, MES/SAP and LIMS. The Manufacturing Associate will provide support for issuance of batch records, LIMS sample planning, sample collection and submission, data collection and analysis for plant production, maintenance scheduling and execution. The Manufacturing Associate will also support key process improvement initiatives such as electronic batch records and other paper-less OE initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide general project management support for manufacturing operations business processes
Work with the plant management team to roll out new initiatives utilizing operational excellence and project management tools
Development of electronic data management and reporting tools for the department
Development and management of manufacturing electronic systems
Comply with GMP's
Identify and recommend improvements related to routine functions and implement after approval
Recognize and accurately report problems
Assist in the review of documentation and electronic records for assigned functions
Provide training for staff, clients and projects
Interact with clients in manufacturing, quality, engineering and contracted services
Department liaison with supply chain and Information Services for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
OR
Associate's degree and 4 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of, and experience with, manufacturing electronic systems
Experience with LIMS
Intermediate mathematical skills
Clear, concise writing skills
Organizational skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to interact constructively with peers
Ability to understand, apply, and evaluate basic chemistry, biology and physical principles
