Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our client in the automotive manufacturing industry in Oakwood, GA for the position of Manufacturing Engineer - Machining. Qualified candidates for this role will have a background in the automotive industry, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and preferrable be Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified. The duties and responsibilities of this position include: Responsibilities: Responsible for manufacturing engineering in a high volume, cast iron machining environment. Responsible for support and optimization of Modern CNC horizontal and vertical machining centers, as well as, horizontal and vertical broaching centers, including tooling and gauges. Will partner with production operations, quality, and maintenance to continuously improve machining capability, cost, quality, reliability, and overall customer service. PPAP process as it pertains to meeting internal and external customer requirements Process MPCR's AutoCAD/Solid works (Drawing changes and tooling design improvements) Requirements and qualifications: Experience in high volume cast iron/ rotor machining. Experience should include CNC (computer numerical control) turning, grinding, as well as the tooling and fixturing of this equipment. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and proficiency with diagnostic equipment required. Ability to read G code instructions. SPC experience preferred. Experience with 5S and other lean principles preferred. Automotive experience preferred. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong communication skills. Able to read and interpret prints as they pertains to making a conforming part Able to edit programs to support or maintain the integrity of all machining product Familiar with the MPCR Process Educational requirements: Bachelors degree in engineering. Six Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred. Work Conditions: Majority of time spent on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection, also requires safety glasses and steel toed shoes Occasional weekends required on a rotating on call basis Physical Demands Must be able to move around the production floor 75% of the time The person in this position needs to also be able to move about the office to access office equipment, attend meetings etc. Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer 60% of the time.
