What do you get to do in this position?
    Provide a safe environment for all employees. Accountable for manufacturing engineering activities related to problem analysis, process improvement, design, layout, methods, and trouble shooting in support of equipment and processes. Responsible for engineering support for processes and equipment in the development and documentation of continuous process improvement. Must exercise judgment within generally defined company practices and policies in selecting applicable engineering concepts, methods, techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results. Effectively utilize the tools of Value Stream Management (to include mapping of current and future state and implementation planning). Understand and apply diagnostic tools such as: VA/NVA analysis, multi-observation studies (MOS), spaghetti diagrams, TAKT time/cycle analysis, line balancing, and changeover analysis. Work with production and quality personnel to establish and maintain product quality standards and drive continuous improvement in conjunction with our Quality Management System. Provide communications to all production, manufacturing and functional support groups in the support of changes. Coordinate implementation of area projects with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other supporting departments. Coordinate plant layout issues of floor space allocation. Resolve issues with Plant Engineering for equipment location and timing of installation. Maintain an up-to-date thorough knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Initiating, evaluating and implementing solutions to design and production problems, as well as coordinating design changes and improvements necessary to improve manufacturing. Maintain process control plans, FMEA’s and process maps. Ability to set overall priorities and form action plans to implement & monitor for results aimed at aligning operations with the overall strategic business goals. Train, mentor and evaluate team of engineers in accepted lean manufacturing concepts.

This job might be for you if:
    B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering 5-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment Personal computer skills and knowledge associated applications (experience with windows based environment, word processing, spreadsheets, manufacturing programs - simulations and mathematical, drafting, documentation and MRP systems) Demonstrate ability to solve issues effectively and efficiently; process and change oriented Strong analytical skills, experience in statistical process control (Six Sigma certification desirable), DOE, and other statistical techniques Ability to use problem solving tools and techniques including 8D, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, etc. Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment, utilizing the concepts of Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow, Kaizen Events, Visual Workplace, 5S, etc. Technical / analytical / problem-solving / project management skills Adept at thinking on your feet, problem resolution, providing direction to multiple groups, resolving conflict, improving efficiencies, continuous improvement Ability to effectively communicate with others orally and in writing. Communicates openly and candidly. Takes responsibility for keeping others informed
