Role Summary/Purpose

2nd shift Sr. Electronic technician

Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will :

* Provide process and equipment support for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) including: MyData pick & place operation, solder screen printing, reflow, glue dot, Marantz and Koh-Young Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) , X-ray (both BGA and through-hole)

* Analyze process performance and product quality data, and provide timely response to issues raised by Production personnel

* As a Direct employee work with area QE and ME to review quality concerns, assess validity and assist in determining appropriate resolution

* Modify process parameters to maintain product quality and prevent production stoppages (within limits established by Engineering)

* Perform process set-up and verification when equipment is not in use for production; develop and de-bug machine programs, profiles and other parameters

* Perform preventative and demand maintenance for production equipment

* As a Direct employee fill any manpower gaps where needed to support all team goals

* Communicate with Manufacturing and Test Engineers to identify "watch items" which require particular attention, and provide detailed reporting of issues that require follow-up

* Provide on-the-job training for production personnel

* The individual will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks

* Assist ME with New Product Introduction (NPI) - Resolution of first run obstacles for seamless transition into production

Qualifications/Requirements

* 2-year technical degree / certificate in a directly related discipline (OR High School Diploma / GED with 2 years of military education / training in related discipline)

* Demonstrated depth and breadth of industry knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge to others

* Ability to read and understand technical information and instructions

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

* Ability and willingness to travel for continuing education courses

* Ability and willingness to lift / move material up to 35 pounds

* Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials if required

* Ability and willingness to work overtime as required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

Desired Characteristics

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electronic assembly industry

* Hands-on experience operating and maintaining a wide range of circuit board manufacturing equipment, including component placement machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, AOI inspection and X-ray equipment, etc.

* A Solid understanding of the MyData center and Magload processes

* Understanding of quality standards for electronic assemblies such as IPC-610-C and J-STD-001 (prior or current certifications a plus)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Desire to work closely with associates, technicians and team leaders to meet targets for quality and output

* Prior experience working in a team oriented environment a plus

* Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate online documents, drawings, and instructions (experience with Microsoft Office applications a plus)
