Eaton located in Arden, NC has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to work on 1st Shift
Position Overview:
Support Manufacturing Engineering functions utilizing Lean concepts including continuous flow, pull, and error proofing. Support continuous improvement framework initiatives in overall product line operations. Develop and maintain standard work package documentation for the product lines.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Support Manufacturing Engineer in standard work development and process check implementation. Write method sheets, maintain OJT documents, and ensure documentation is up to date for the product lines.
  • Participate in and lead rapid improvement events and kaizen events comprised of multi-functional team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture through project support and implementation with the operations team. Support continuous improvement ticket projects.
  • Utilize Eaton Lean and quality tools to drive cost reduction and support the startup and launch of capital projects.
  • Participate in Tier Meetings and GEMBA walks to identify improvement opportunities and work with operations and management to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Effectively interact in a matrix environment that includes teams made up of people from Operations, IT, OPEX, Engineering, Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain.
  • Perform analysis and reviews to support the Eaton Lean Tools.  Analysis may include observation studies, times studies, capability studies, set up reduction studies, waste walks, and 5S Site Audit.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering Processes via the Engineering Change Request Processes, Product Development Process, and Inventory Management Processes.  Support may include determining action to take, writing the request for change, verifying the change, and training employees on the change.
  • Provide action to implement improvements.  Actions may include building racks, relocating parts, sorting, straightening, and shining.
  • Issue purchase orders for required equipment and supplies for production and projects.
  • Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, and training.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in an Engineering field from an accredited institution.  
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation is provided for this opening. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Arden, NC facility will be considered.  


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a MFG environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience working on continuous improvement, kaizen, rapid improvement teams
