This role will support the manufacturing special processes, specifically metals joining with the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (i.e TIG) process and other welding processes as necessary. In this role, the successful candidate will partner with the shops in solving technical challenges related to metals joining. Additionally, you will use the comprehensive knowledge of underlying principles, approaches and methodology within the welding field to serve as a technical expert for Lynn Manufacturing.
In addition you will :
+ Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
+ Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment Includes Manufacturing Engineers
+ Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods
+ Communicates across direct organization
+ Presents to senior leaders (EB and SEB) in specific technical space and on cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy
+ Connects the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions
+ Works on cross-functional projects / teams to deliver technology solutions for the business
+ Communicates across the function in area of expertise
+ Gather lessons learned, and share with the appropriate stakeholders to implement new solutions
+ Act as a Certifying Agent for the special process group, and maintain that certification to support business need
+ Apply existing technologies, approaches, methodologies in new combinations to design new products, systems or processes
+ Serve as a specialist in the joining and heat treat discipline internally and externally
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing and Welding)
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Welding Production Processes and Equipment
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
+ Ability to influence others and lead small teams
+ Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
+ Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
+ Effective problem identification and solution skills
+ Proven analytical and organizational ability
+ Certified welder with the GTAW process
