Description: MARINE TECHNICIAN
LEVEL I

TASKS: Assist senior technicians in all areas of boat maintenance, replacement of components, oil changes, rigging, and operation of boats and equipment; maintain dock and work areas as required; attend training courses or seminars; learn how to use service aids; become familiar with required paperwork and recordkeeping.

OTHER: Supply own hand tools; show desire to advance through on-the-job-training and service seminars

GOALS/EXPECTATIONS: Technician should, within the first year, be proficient with vessel maintenance skills in at least two new areas of expertise; shall pass a minimum of two factory training courses; demonstrate clean, safe and environmentally-sound work practices, follow company rules, practices and procedures; maintain a clean appearance and courteous attitude with co-workers and customers.

Hand Tools, Drills, Saws, Sanders/Grinders, Fork Lift, Crane/Winches, Ladder, Chase Boat, Hand Truck, ATV 4 Wheeler, Welding Machine, Other Machinery/Equipment

Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

Lifting Requirements:
VERY HEAVY - Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

Qualifications: EXPERIENCE:
Entry level position with some skills in required areas of expertise.

TECHNICAL: Read and write English; 18 years of age or older; able to learn; boating background helpful; must show an aptitude for basic mechanics and maintenance; understanding of 2- and 4-cycle theory and design helpful
