In January 2016, MetLife announced a plan to pursue the separation of a substantial portion of its U.S. Retail segment. Once separated, the new business will be called Brighthouse Financial.

This role will be responsible for generating actionable insights through research initiatives in support of the Brighthouse Financial brand. This includes designing and leading qualitative and quantitative research projects to address business challenges, solicit feedback, and gain market insight. He/she will be central to the distribution of research-based knowledge and deliverables within the marketing organization and beyond. This person will work in partnership with marketing stakeholders, build bridges to collaborate with cross-functional partners, and coordinate vendor relationships.



  • Manage research plans including ownership of learning objectives, vendor management, research methodology, and dissemination of relevant insights
  • Create and manage research repository to share findings, reports and resources with partners
  • Develop strong knowledge of customers, market needs, innovation, and competitive trends, and produce related research reports
  • Build collaborative relationships with Marketing, Product, Distribution, Finance, Compliance, and Legal
  • Manage day-to-day operations including setting priorities, leading issues to resolution, and budgeting
  • Seek opportunities to grow and develop capabilities within the organization.
  • Identify business growth opportunities via brand, marketing and product initiatives


  • 2-3 years of prior marketing experience
  • Market research and/or financial services experience preferred
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and apply creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively project manage research initiatives
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Effective interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
