Erenumab/Migraine HCP Marketing Director
The US Erenumab/Migraine Marketing Director will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing the HCP marketing strategy and promotional plan critical to commercial launch readiness and the successful launch of Erenumab, Amgen's first launch into the neuroscience space. Critical to the role will be an in-depth development and assessment of the migraine market growth opportunities and building and leading the execution of impactful strategies/execution plans with HCPs via sales force and integrated multi-channel campaigns/activities.
The Marketing Director will lead formally with direct report(s), as well as informally cross-functionally across a team that includes BAI, MCM, payer/access, advocacy, LCM, learning and development, sales ops, medical, legal and regulatory, global marketing, external partners, amongst others. The Marketing Director will also be responsible for leading and managing all HCP-related agency partners, as well as the proactive management of HCP-related budget.
Responsibilities include:
• Significant strategic insight toward development of the Erenumab/Migraine Commercial Strategy Plan
• Leading the development and implementation of optimized, segment specific promotional plans, integrating personal and multi-channel initiatives
• Systematically develop and track metrics for promotional mix, while linking to the broader success metrics of the brand
• Building a seamless, lock-step partnership with the sales team, including sales leadership, as well as with KAMs (key account managers) and BSRs, (biopharma sales reps) with continuous engagement plans
• Developing and delivering compelling plan of action (POA) sales meetings and highly valued sales materials to the INBU sales force
• Cross functional leadership to gain alignment in focus and timing with internal partners both strategically and tactically
• Coordinating and driving focused market research plans to generate significant insights in further driving launch and post-launch performance
• Partnering closely with Learning & Development and Medical Communications toward developing and enhancing sales force effectiveness in executing sales materials
• Commercial lead for HCP-related assets in MAC team meetings
• Lead congress and KOL identification and relationship development
• Leadership of all HCP-related agencies to hold them accountable to the highest standards of performance
• Proactive management of marketing budget
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience
Master's degree and 8 years of marketing experience
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA with marketing focus
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical marketing/BAI (business analysis & insights)/product management
• Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility within sales and marketing
• Strong leadership and people management/engagement skills
• Ability to effectively produce business results in highly complex sales and marketing environments
• Thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions and reimbursement
• Sales and/or sales management experience
• Neuroscience therapeutic area experience
• Technical marketing competencies: Marketplace/customer analysis and insight generation, customer segmentation, brand positioning, brand sustainability (campaign/message platform development), execution excellence (multi-channel development and metric development/tracking)
• Solid ability to effectively lead a team in aligning to a common vision, and towards the development of individual staff members for improved performance and achievement of career aspirations
• Strong ability in both leading cross-functional teams, and in being a member of a cross-functional team
• Strong communication effectiveness: The ability to effectively engage, connect, and influence senior management and the sales and marketing organizations
• Ability to translate and communicate complex information/strategies into simple and impactful execution plans
