Marketing Research Analyst / Analyst Sr. / Marketing Research Manager JOB FAMILY

The incumbent will work in a matrix organization across all U.S. time zones, contributing and sometimes leading cross functional insight project teams. The role will report to the Marketing Strategy and Insights Director.
The Market Strategy and Insights Team, Anthem's centralized market research unit, is responsible for spearheading insights that fuel growth for Anthem. The team is seeking a "data scientist" to join them who has experience in the health care or health insurance industry. In this position, you will work closely with Market Strategy and Insights team members and other data analytic teams to merge survey and administrative data and use these datasets to conduct advanced analyses for the assessment of business opportunities and guide organizational decision making. Using techniques such as logistic regression, segmentation, and CHAID analyses you will predict customer behavior, identify product and marketing opportunities, and forecast effects of product changes while accounting for the complexities of healthcare markets.
You will be responsible for gathering data throughout disparate administrative systems for analysis and insights presentation to team members and internal business partners. This role will serve as a bridge between the market research team, other analytic teams, and IT. This position will manage concurrent projects while monitoring progress against the research schedule. Although not required, experience with a research supplier as a data/marketing scientist and/or with a company doing data integration/appends within the marketing research team is highly valued.The incumbent will work in a matrix organization across all U.S. time zones, contributing and sometimes leading cross functional insight project teams. Responsible for obtaining and analyzing data gathered from primary and secondary research to support marketing efforts, research planning, implementation, and incorporation of research findings, managing the use of efficient and effective market research and may serve as a lead for the Market Research staff. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
Analyzes and interprets qualitative and quantitative data.
Prepares research reports.
Develops management and ad hoc reports.
Develops and maintains databases.
Develops strategies for gathering market intelligence.
Makes recommendations to integrate findings into product strategy.
Assesses business situations and prepares proposals in response to business needs for both primary and secondary research.
Designs data collection tools and works with vendors to collect data, analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
Determines sources of secondary data, including pre-existing primary research, and retrieves and analyzes data.
Writes reports and recommendations incorporating findings from both primary and secondary research.
Serves as a project lead
Researches trends and recommends strategic and tactical actions that further the development of profitable membership.
Incorporates business plans and strategies into research plans.
Integrates research management tools.
Builds and maintains relationships with key associates within the organization, vendors and peer groups.
May mentor and oversee work of market research analysts
Requires a BA/BS degree in marketing or business; 2 years of experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Health insurance or managed care experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications Include
3-8 years of Health or Managed Care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Solid understanding of statistical analysis software such as SAS and SPSS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Proficiency with Qualtrics and Medallia preferred
Proficiency with Domo Business Intelligence tools preferred
Intermediate level understanding of common data structures and supporting algorithms (i.e., a 200 level course in computer science) a plus
Advanced level understanding of applied statistics and predictive analytic techniques (i.e., a 400 level undergraduate course or a first year graduate course). This can be either academic or learned in practice (industry, sciences research, etc.) a plus
