Material Handler 1st shift

Biamp Systems is looking for a temporary Material Handler to assist during the holiday season. The assignment is approximately 60 days. The Material Handler works as part of a team to provide material support to production lines or areas in a Lean Manufacturing environment. Assures necessary materials are present at appropriate locations when needed and required transactions are completed promptly.
¿ Receives electronic and/or verbal instructions regarding the order in which products should be pulled and sequenced on production lines. Follows detailed directions to deliver material in the appropriate manner.
¿ Maintains inventory levels in production zones using kanban replenishment and visual cues while reporting problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Material Handling Supervisor.
¿ Maintains a clean and organized work area including aisle-ways and stocking locations to facilitate manufacturing operations.
¿ Performs regular cycle counts of supplies required and amount of products completed.
¿ Assists with scheduling on the production lines and facilitates clear communication between Planning and the assembly lines.
¿ Cross-trains in other areas and provides training to coworkers as needed.
¿ Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
¿ Previous material handling experience preferred.
¿ Work 1st shift from 7:00am - 3:30pm.
¿ Must be able to lift up to 25lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally.
¿ Basic written and verbal communication skills with ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
¿ Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
¿ Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret work orders.
¿ Has training in and demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
¿ Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
¿ Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending.
¿ Ability to climb and descend stairs.
¿ Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
¿ Use tools that require fine hand skills.
¿ Visually observe and differentiate small moving parts.
¿ Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
¿ May be required to alternate schedules to meet production goals.
¿ Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment.
¿ Attendance is a critical function of this position.
