Job Description


To fill orders and stage materials and products in appropriate areas in accordance with oral and written job instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must attend and pass the Johnson Controls manufacturing Training and Safety class .The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Receives job instructions, identifies product, verifies count, and part number.

Pulls parts for appropriate Kan Ban medium or stages parts for loading/line usage.

Unloads product upon delivery and does put away. May also have to do order picking. This may require use of printed location sheets or use of RF scanner.

Uses materials handling equipment such as tractor, forklift, push carts, dollies or Raymond to locate and store product according to location system.

Works with line personnel in order to replenish parts when needed by moving parts to lines to maintain smooth flow to sustain production levels. This could include moving and/or setting dies.

Notifies proper personnel of any part shortages

Maintains vehicle records.

Observation of all safety rules and keeping work area neat and orderly is mandatory.

Ability to effectively communicate with two-way radio.

Overtime is required to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary.


EDUCATION, TRAINING, and/or EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete the forklift training class. Must understand the Johnson Controls Manufacturing process and be detailed oriented.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Operational Method Sheets (OMS).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and pull and/or push 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
