A local Client of Adecco has an opening for a Materials Planner-Buyer in our Grass Valley, California facility. This person is responsible for the purchase of all inventory items; They are responsible for purchasing the required quantity and quality of the inventory items needed to produce all products. They routinely and regularly expedite purchase orders with suppliers and maintain communication on order delivery status by updating system orders and alerting Production of pending shortages. They will also work with suppliers to understand and schedule supplier capacity. They will perform purchasing activities as assigned; and maintain purchase order files. Coordinates activities with other buyers at other divisions when practical. They must communicate shortages or problem invoices with internal customers for schedule revision and customer notification.

Essential Job Functions for the Materials Planner-Buyer:
Experience in Production Controls
LEAN knowledge and understanding
Knowledge with implementing InforLN or BAAN
Process mapping and documentation
Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee
Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensure compliance
Administers corporate credit card purchasing program
Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
Examines bids and makes awards
Establishes account/credit and terms
Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.
Familiar with overseas purchasing/shipping regulations
Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers
Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies arrived
Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders

Qualifications for the Materials Planner-Buyer:

1. Education

Bachelor Degree, in a business related area

2. Specific Skills

Negotiating skills
Proficient in Quickbooks
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory
Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
Solid decision making skills
Overall Awesome Team player, ready to jump in where and when needed.
