Eaton in Waukesha, WI is hiring for a Materials Planning Supervisor.
The primary function of this position is to determine and lead implementation of policies and procedures (standard work) for tactical planning of materials. The position will interface with the Power Systems Marketing team, plant operations, and other supply chain functions in support of efforts to build strong relationships that deliver reduced costs, and material flow, and improved service. This position reports to the Site Supply Chain Manager and leads a team of Planners, the position will also have (tactical) Planning responsibilities to support ongoing needs.
Essential Functions:
  • Implement and maintain planning systems and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to plant materials and planning personnel on current planning systems and techniques.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production to material flow and velocity.
  • Lead and support cost savings initiatives and projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the movement of materials through the sales cycle to accurately forecast future production plans.
  • Ensure team of Planners successfully manage material shortages, work order movement, on-time delivery, production constraints, and potential schedule interruptions or delivery delays.
  • Track and  monitor metrics that reflect customer satisfaction, lead time management, inventory turns and other metrics as required (such as days on hand and aged WIP).
  • Administer formal work order flow improvement process to include quantitative production performance measures for through-put and delivery performance.
  • Develop and implement techniques, which maximize our production flow and minimize the risk of unfavorable variances.
  • Lead the establishment of accurate material schedules.
  • Tactical planning responsibilities for critical areas as required   

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning is required
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
  • The ability to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship is required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, materials, supply chain, inventory control, or operations/logistics is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • APICS certification is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive planning or buying experience in an ETO environment.
  • SAP Experience.
