A Mechanical Design Engineer job in Moonachie, NJ is currently available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technology. To be considered for this opportunity you must have at least 3 years of experience working as a Mechanical Designer with knowledge of sheet metal fabrication procedures and abilities. This is a permanent opportunity to work for the global leader in dry solids metering and handling technologies.
Mechanical Design Engineer job responsibilities include:
Charged with the full responsibility for the supervision and design of assigned mechanical projects.
Review of machine specifications for completeness and technical feasibility.
Design equipment for optimum performance and construction.
Create layouts, sketches, details and assembly drawings of all equipment component parts for submission to the Drafting Services Department.
Check for detail and drafting accuracy upon drawing completion.
Interface with the Electrical Engineering department to coordinate relevant electro-mechanical issues.
Perform incoming parts inspection on specialty buy-out components.
Perform final inspection on all equipment and update equipment documentation.
Close out assigned projects; prepare instruction manual documentation and forward all pertinent documentation to the sales department in a timely manner.
Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Background in machine design and power transmission technologies
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, structural steel, welding practices and capabilities; shop fabrication procedures and abilities; strengths of materials, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
Knowledge of AutoCAD with practical experience. Autodesk Inventor experience would be a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills required
