Skilled Mechanical Design Engineer Needed
A local Miami County company is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Hydraulic Design Team.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience specializing in Hydraulic Design. All applicants should be proficient in SolidWorks and CAD software and be prepared to demonstrate examples of prior work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team or independent environment is a must.
Typical day-to-day duties include: Building, configuring, and testing robots. Designing software systems to control their robotic systems in a machining and cleanroom environment. Designing automated robotic systems that are used to increase the production and precision levels within existing manufacturing along with future systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
� Analyze and evaluate robotic systems to help meet production goals.
� Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelope, product flow, and transportation methods.
� Building layouts and power requirements to accept automation designs.
� Work with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels
� Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems with robotic systems
� Design tooling
� Install, calibrate, operate, and provide on-going maintenance plans for robotic systems
� Provide technical support for robotic systems.
� Create, review and approve designs, calculations, cost estimates, and project plans.
� Write programming code for robotic applications.
� Plan mobile robot paths and teach path plans to robots.
� Confers with suppliers and contractors to define and determine product specifications, capability and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
� Carries out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.� Requires is a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with focus in Robotics / Automation Engineering Curriculum. 5 years related experience.
� Experience in programming Kuka, ABB, Fanuc or other robots with emphasis on automating CNC or EDM machine load/unload
� Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
� Requires knowledge in Lean manufacturing, SPC, and Problem Solving
� PLC experience and electrical controls of motors, switches, diverters, etc.
� Ability to analysis real time data, to relay information.
� Understanding of PLC and OPI (operator interface) controls
� Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical publications.
� Ability to work both as an individual contributor, and as part of a team.
