The candidate will be integral part of Intel's Corporate Services Technology Development organization, working as part of an inter-disciplinary team. The candidate will have joint roles of mechanical system owner and project engineer, owning projects from design stage thru sustaining operations.
•Creating and maintaining site standards for cleanroom facilities systems that enable cutting edge design and technical manufacturing. Implementing and ensuring adherence to Intel's Virtual Factory standards where applicable.
•Ownership of mechanical systems in a 24/7 factory environment. Responsibilities include responding to customer requests or quality events as they occur, identifying and implementing system improvement opportunities, performing design reviews, conducting functional acceptance testing for system acceptance, determining on-going maintenance requirements, and developing solutions using model based problem solving.
•Participation in the development of project scope, budget, and schedule. Interfacing with outside A&E firms, local municipalities/utilities, trade contractors and other Intel stakeholders throughout a project design phase. Support Request for Proposal (RFP) development for all external consultants and contract work as required. Perform conceptual mechanical engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints.
•Develop and innovate to meet facilities requirements of a technology development facility.
Minimum Qualification Skills (Must Have Skills):
•BS 4 yrs. exp.; MS 3 yrs. exp.; PhD 1 yr. exp.in Mechanical Engineering with 4 years of related experience in large-scale manufacturing / mechanical facility systems design, construction, and operations. (HVAC, Fire Protection, Process Mechanical, Exhaust, etc.)
•Strong technical expertise, teamwork, and communication skills. Able to identify, analyze and problem solve immediate issues with technical equipment in an interdisciplinary environment.
•All Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have Skills):
•Experience with Statistical Process control.
•Experience in design, construction, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment (pumps, piping, valves, HVAC, exhaust, scrubbers, etc.) and familiarity with process control (instrumentation, PID control, SCADA), in an industrial environment. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment desirable.
•Ability to work shutdowns and other shifts as needed to support production.
Experience partnering with technicians on maintenance management, non-standard work, and troubleshooting. Commitment to continuous improvement of system documentation, training packages, and training of other engineers and technicians.
•Expert knowledge of codes and standards of mechanical engineering. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction contract documents.
•Construction Project Management experience desirable.
•PE license desirable.
•Ability to function effectively in a team environment composed of both technical and management personnel to resolve issues quickly and economically. Ability to work and adapt in a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision.
