I. Position Summary:
Utilize team based and patient centered approach as outlined in clinic workflows. Assists in delivery of health care by assisting residents, faculty, and visiting faculty with patient exams, procedures, treatments, and patient education. Ability to consistently and accurately utilize the functions within the electronic health record. Assists in performing other related duties necessary to assure an efficiently functioning family practice clinic.
II. Position Requirements:
Current BLS certification. Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Graduate from a medical assistant school.
Lab testing in compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA standards
One year experience in a clinical setting preferred
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe
Skill in assisting in a variety of procedures and treatments as necessary
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients,
medical staff, coworkers, and the public
III. Degree of Supervision Required:
RN Supervisor provides general direction, assigns projects and evaluates performance.
Employee agrees to work within scope of practice for MA
Employee agrees to comply with all regulations and policies as outlined in the
policy and procedure manual for the clinic and Swedish/HealthONE
IV. Orientation Period: 90 days
