Local Medical Facility is looking for a Medical Receptionist in the growing office.
Duties of the Medical Receptionist • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person. • Check patients in and out, updating patient information as needed. • Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting co-pays from patients as allowed by contracts and insurance agreements. • Scan patient information into system as required. • Schedule tests and return-appointments for patients at check-out as requested by physician. • Generate patient plan document and appropriate orders as requested by physician • Task MA with needed doctor requests. • Fax all consult/progress notes to referring provider(s). • Maintain waiting room(s) in presentable manor • Help walk-in patients schedule regular office visits and tests • Assist with other front office duties as required. • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. • Maintain strict confidentiality. Skills and Qualifications of the Medical Receptionist About 2+ years experience as a Medical office reception experience. Extensive understanding of HMO, PPO, POS, MCR insurances and local medical groups is required. Ability to handle multiple demands. Excellent communication and PR skills. Good verbal skills. Understanding of patient confidentiality and medical ethics. Knowledge of medical practice and terminology helpful. Extensive understanding of Electronic Medical Records and strong computer skills.
