Current Need
McKesson Patient Care Solutions is currently hiring a Medical Records Manager for their new Medical Records Department.

Position Description
Responsible for directing the billing and administrative functions for the Company's third party billing and claims processing division. Plans, organizes and operates one or more of the following functions for Reimbursement Services: Medicare Full Assignment, Contract Billing, and Managed Care Billing and Verifications, Document Collections, Cash Applications and Collections, Master file Administration and Records Management. Stays abreast of changes and potential changes in Federal Healthcare programs and ensures compliance with regulations of all Federal Healthcare programs, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the requirements of third party payers. Establishes and implements new policies/procedures/metrics to continually recognize efficiencies.


Goals and Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of administration is to promote quality of services by standardizing the organization of both written and electronic health records, ensuring that records are complete, accessible and easily retrievable, while maintaining the protection of client confidentiality.  As the manager, they will be responsible for the medical records clerks, medical coders and documentation teams/departments.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements
3+ years third party claims management experience in a multiple payer environment in the healthcare industry.

Critical Skills
  • Two plus years overseeing and running a medical records department, including collection of and retaining of medical records.
  • Electronic records storage experience
  • Document management experience
  • Well versed in policies, procedures and regulation of storing medical records


Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Previous managerial experience leading a small team up to 10
  • Medical Records/ Health Information Certification


Education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Health Information Management or related field
