General Summary:

The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for performing analysis, modification, documentation and support of daily reporting operations for PES. They will work closely with PES business partners to understand business requirements and ensure that application systems properly function to meet business needs, delivering valuable reporting insight regarding the KPIs across PES. The position will consult with business and power users to identify reporting needs, operation procedures, clarify reporting objectives, evaluate business requirements and implement innovative reporting solutions in a fast paced environment. This position includes designing, coding, modifying, testing, debugging, and documenting reporting needs. The ability to work independently or in conjunction with other programmers and business partners is a must.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Recommendation:
  • Develop, test, document, implement, and maintain Enterprise and Customized reporting
  • Troubleshoot, support and maintain critical information systems. Analyze and identify time-sensitive system problems that could have an impact on business operations
  • Analyze existing processes and identify dependencies and potential break points, and recommend and implement improved technical solutions
  • Partner with internal customers to understand requirements in business terms and translate those requirements into technical solutions. This includes developing new capabilities as well as break fix
  • Convert project specs into sequence of detailed instructions & logical steps for coding in a computer processing language; applying knowledge of computer programming techniques / computer languages
  • Analyze, review, and alter program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
  • Document program development, logic, coding, and corrections
  • Write functional specifications
  • Develop installation and operating procedures manual
  • May use computer-aided software tools in each stage of system development
  • Oversee hardware / software installation; provide technical assistance to program users
  • Plan, develop, and test document programs applying knowledge of programming techniques / computer systems
  • Evaluate user requests for new / modified programs
  • Outline steps required to develop programs using standard development methodologies
  • Capture requirements using development frameworks / tools
  • Assist in solving operating problems


Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 to 5 Years of Full Business Analysis Experience
  • Proficient in Business Objects
    • Experience with Business Objects suite of applications, designing and developing Business Objects Universes, Reports and Dashboards
    • Experience working with Business Objects Enterprise XI 4.0
    • Experience working with Crystal Reports XI
  • Experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Background in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio,

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in business, computer science, or information systems
  • Prior call center operations experience
  • Knowledge of system life cycle / application development alternatives
  • High aptitude for complex problem analysis / resolution
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively present to target audience
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Detail-orientated; uses sound judgment; and is self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Very good organization and time management skills
