METALLIC Commodity Specialist - Auburn Hills, MI Our client is an international leader in the design and manufacturing of high end systems and components for the automotive industry. They have been in business for more than 100 years, have multiple R&D sites across the globe and supply parts to the auto makers worldwide. As the organization continues to grow they are looking to add a purchasing Commodity Specialist to their Metallic business unit. This person will report to the Commodity Purchasing Director and will be asked to travel (approx 25%) Responsibilities: Drive, plan and execute strategy of components and raw materials from global contract manufacturers and suppliers Maintain and enlarge strong working relationships and communications with suppliers Proactively purchasing performance report and forecast Participate and contribute to monthly Sales and Operations Planning Support in negotiations, evaluate cost implications and ensure quality and delivery and recovery actions in case of deviations Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 3 - 5 years purchasing experience Knowledge of the metallic marketplace Experience within the automotive sector Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communications skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities Bilingual (a plus) Metallic Market knowledge To Apply - Please send a Word version of your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
