Job description

This Senior Director, Product Lifecycle & Technology, is within Hardware Supply Chain organization and will partner with Oracle's Cloud teams bringing IaaS solutions to market. This role is responsible for product life cycle management, product quality, supply continuity, costs, and people development. The organization is made up of Operations Program Managers, Product Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers. This position is in Seattle to be co-located with the IaaS team.

The Sr. Director works with their design partners to bring products to production readiness and manages the supply chain, product attributes and teams to respond to problems and/or business needs. Throughput, product cost, quality, predictability, on-time product launches are all key measures of success. Strategic discussions concerning organization alignment, product roadmap, and process development are important elements of the Sr Director's role. Building solid relationships with the design community is critical to success. The person would provide leadership to an organization of 20-30 employees of both technical and non-technical roles to achieve business objectives.
This position is for an experienced supply chain and product management expert adept at handling the various complexities in managing manufacturing and product launch. This role is expected to be the senior supply chain leader at the Seattle location.

Preferred skills
BS in Engineering with advanced degree
10 years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of electronics products
10 years of engineering, manufacturing, and/or product management experience
Experience with computer architecture and hardware components.
Experience with product development life cycle.
Strong organization and communication skills.
Ability to report, document and present technical subject matter to peers and management in a concise and clear manner.
Group facilitation and problem solving skills.
Strong relationship development track record

Qualifications:
Construction of the finished product incorporating appropriate techniques and responding to quality initiatives.

Responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the management of Oracle*s manufacturing suppliers. Manage supplier activities in the areas of material purchase, material control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet internal needs. Maintains acceptable inventory levels. Manages the supplier relationship to meet performance indicators. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials. Coordinates contract implementation with Oracle Legal. Supports planning, procurement, and distribution activities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with manufacturing supplier outsourcing activities. Demonstrated leadership skills preferably in a high technology environment.
