Manage successful completion of software development projects within boundaries of quality, time and budget. Provide oversight of software development and verification/validation activities for specific project.

Provides technical direction to staff, mentoring junior team members. Recognized as expert by peers and others within the business.

Manage a variety of complex issues in associated projects, plans/schedules implementation of test activities. Responsible for defining scope of work for software development and test team.

Manage, identify, hire, develop and recognize technical staff; the team may include senior level engineers and technicians. Provide technical direction to staff and projects.

Design new/ improved processes and required systems.

Policy-setting/defining procedures for staff in accomplishing/documenting activities.

Based on significant technical expertise, reviews and approves complex design concepts.

Approve protocols/support documentation (engineering change requests, system change forms, etc.) in order to secure project release. This is a "technical approver" position.

Recognized as software development expert by peers and other personnel within the business.

Oversee external vendors providing test activity support.

Qualifications :
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 8+  years of experience.

Must be well versed in software engineering disciplines (e.g. software development environments, configuration management tools, code inspection techniques and tools, testing methods and test management tools). Must possess knowledge of related disciplines.

Prior experience leading the design and verification of application software required. Experience with the development and testing of medical infusion pumps or other complex medical devices desired.

Well versed in Design Control, Change Control and problem solving (CAPA) and their application in software product development. Documentation of the Design History File (requirements, architecture, risk, verification and validation plans, test protocols and reports) desired.

Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA guidelines, and IEC 60601 and 62304 standards desired.

Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, supervise, hire, and mentor highly talented engineering personnel as individual contributors and leaders on product development teams.

Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.

Ability to design and influence outside of immediate scope of responsibility. Understand project strategies and technical needs, influence direction and resource needs, apply appropriate resources to programs. Ability to partner across sites to execute on project commitments and resource prioritization. Ability to partner with franchise and program management effectively to understand business priorities and ensure alignment.

ISTQB certification desired.
