We’re looking for a talented and energetic Mine Manager for our Van Horn, TX operation. The Mine Manager is responsible for the production, safety and maintenance activities at our Natural Minerals American and Rosa Blanca Mines.

Responsibilities:

+ Forecasting, budgeting, and scheduling of mine planning, production, and man-power requirements.

+ Directs all drilling activities and conducts all mine blasting

+ Plans and directs all overburden movement

+ Talc production, quality testing - in pit, pre-stockpiling, stockpiling, and finish product

+ Inventory management of stockpiles and ore reserves

+ Mobile and primary crushing maintenance planning and execution

+ Procurement and inventory of production supplies (spares/replacement parts, fuel, explosives, etc.)

+ Feedstock delivery to Allamore Mill and delivery to the rail load out and loading of the rail cars

+ Coordinates and manages with critical customer trucking contractor and production contractor relationships.

+ Reviews and approves all invoices for payment

+ Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all aspects of the Environmental, Health and Safety Program at the mine and surrounding property by assuring operations are in compliance to applicable regulations and standards.

+ Assist Dal-Tile Division EH&S in completing Reports and make timely submissions: e.g. Injury, Violation Response, Emission Reports, Air Permit Compliance Reports, Water Discharge Monitoring Reports and spill release and response reports.

+ Implement, manage and train to the Environmental, Health & Safety Programs at the mine and mill facilities.

+ Performs and/or caused to be performed, audits and inspections of facilities for compliance with regulations, written programs, company policies and corporate procedures and makes recommendations to Operations Management.

+ Lead, direct and coordinate local workforce to meet production, EH&S and corporate goals.

+ Ensure that corporate policies, procedures and expectations are executed consistently throughout the operation.

+ Other duties as assigned

Education and Knowledge:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, Earth Studies or Environmental, Health and Safety studies.

+ Candidates pursuing higher degrees or Professional Certification are encouraged.

Experience:

+ 10 years of progressively more responsible positions within Mining Operations or in a closely related area.

+ Past experience as a Manager or in related roles considered a plus.

+ Monitors departmental compliance with applicable local rules and regulation.
