The Mold Service Team:
  • Supports manufacturing by servicing the injection mold tooling used on the production lines
  • Includes assembly, disassembly, preventive and reactive maintenance of the injection mold and subcomponents – offline and online, required to deliver production ready molds within tolerance and on time
  • Supports projects to drive continuous improvement and performs all work with adherence to GMP, EHS, and Quality procedures
The Mold Tooling Technician:
  • Performs visual inspections using microscopes, basic Preventive maintenance, and simple repair of equipment
  • Delivers production ready injection molds and is responsible for preventative mold maintenance
  • Acts as an emergency response for IMM machine troubleshooting and mold repair
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of college in technical discipline (or equivalent), or equivalent industrial experience required
  • Proven mold maintenance process knowledge emphasizing injection molding, mold fabrication, electro-mechanical, tool and die fabrication preferred
  • 2+ years of equipment maintenance or manufacturing experience within a high volume production environment preferred
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following area highly preferred: Mold components and interaction as it impacts the injection molding manufacturing process and the attributes that impact quality; Tooling experience and knowledge of troubleshooting/repair, equipment prototyping, mechanical parts design, materials/metal working; Hot Runner Systems and Mold Circuits; Injection Molding Machine and multi-cavity molds.
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring and inspection devices (i.e. microscope, multimeter, height gauges, micrometer, calipers, BRASS II, etc.) to verify dimensions and quality required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks along with the ability to handle multiple tasks required
  • Good organizational skills required
  • Ability to work in an empowered work team environment required
  • Ability to inspect and/or service up to 100 molds per day required
  • Ability to meet the conditions and physical demands of the job is required and includes: visual acuity, talking, repetitive motions, inside environmental conditions, walking, pulling, lifting (up to 23 lbs), grasping, reaching, pushing, and standing
  • Ability to use hand and power tools as needed required
  • Must be capable of learning basic mold maintenance techniques, including ultrasonic cleaning systems
  • Must be capable of working to tolerances of +/- .025mm, +/- .001 inch
  • Must meet established department productivity, quality, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Must have math skills to include, but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, decimals, as well as the ability to convert between standard and metric measurements
  • Basic PC skills required including Microsoft Office proficiency and navigating the internet
  • Must be willing and able to work all shits in an continuous operations environment which can include rotating 12 hour shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm, nights and weekends
