Multifamily Agency Senior Analyst (Newport Beach, California)


The Analyst will work closely with senior underwriters to evaluate proposed loans for credit risk and obtain deal approvals. The individual will be responsible for preliminarily screening and underwriting Agency loans. The individual will also perform other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the Commercial Lending area and the Agency lending platform including the opportunity to underwrite multifamily balance sheet transactions.                          


 -Working with underwriting manager and loan origination team to structure deals . -Reviewing borrower financial positions, market analysis, property inspections and presenting deals for review and approval .

-Analyzing commercial loan requests via credit analysis write-up, including but not limited to: completing financial statement spreads, calculation of key financial ratios, analysis of the Borrower/Prospect financial strength, preparation of financial statement projection models and industry research and analysis. 

-Underwriting multifamily loans including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Capital One balance sheet.

-Understanding and applying appropriate credit parameters in order to minimize credit risk .

-Familiarity of credit concepts and major policy parameters. 

 -Learn all credit analysis systems and applicable bank software applications; continuous learning related to credit risk and commercial real estate .

-Strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and effective communicator .

-Experience with prescreening and/or underwriting Agency Seniors transactions

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

-1-2 years of experience in agency lending.

-Formal credit training experience .

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office - including Excel and Word and demonstrates solid writing skills.
