Cisco's Advanced Services Software Integration and Orchestration (SIO) team is looking for an experienced Software Architect/Engineer. This role is key to implement, customize, extend and integrate Automation Solutions for both physical and virtual infrastructure including Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Cloud, DC and WAN infrastructure. The Automation Solutions include Cisco products and solutions such as Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), WAN Automation Engine(WAE), Virtual Managed Services (VMS) as well as 3 rd party and OpenSource tools such as OpenStack, Work Flow Management and Integration Middleware.
The Team is comprised of Software Architects and Developers who work on a customer project to understand the customer requirements for Automation, implement Cisco's and 3rd party products with required extensions and customization, integrate into existing customer's OSS/BSS systems, perform Unit and Solution testing in a development environment, implement the developed solution in a customer's production environment and then provide day-2 support for ongoing optimization.
The Team interacts with Customer, Business Units, Sales team and Technical Services during the lifecycle of a project through Presales scoping/Proof-Of-Concept/Project delivery/Optimization. Customers include both Service Provider and Enterprise cutover segments.
Role & Responsibilities
The Candidate should be able to perform following activities: Technical solution requirements and scoping, architecture, design, implement, customize, extend, test and customer acceptance for Automation solutions such as Tail-NSO and NFV/VMS solutions and associated Systems Integration with customers incumbent OSS/BSS systems.
Candidate must be experienced in Agile methodology with Sprints (e.g. 2 weeks) based delivery such as in Requirements by 1 st sprint, Design by 2 nd sprint, POC by 3 rd sprint, Solution Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by 6 th sprint and then execute on additional customization/integration and onboard additional Use cases.
The person should have prior experience (about 8 years) of building agile but scalable and highly available software solution for carrier grade production deployments. The person should have prior experience with Virtualization, Cloud Computing and Dev-Ops software development. The person should have an experience with open source tools and integration middleware/APIs.
The person should have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. The person should be self-motivated and able to work independently and/or in support of or leading small teams
