LinkedIn is targeting a qualified candidate, Manager - Corporate Network Engineering to be part of a dynamic IT team to primarily focus on Operational Excellence along with design and implement scope of the company's Enterprise Corporate Network and Security Infrastructure.
The Manager, Corporate Network Engineering team will lead a team of global Network Engineers responsible for providing high-touch world-wide support of LinkedIn's internal IT Network services worldwide. Reporting to the Director of IT Communication and Collaboration Services within LinkedIn's Information Technology (IT) team, you will be responsible for operations, implementation and design for the corporate network.
This position provides management and leadership of enterprise-level support services for integrated wired, wireless and associated network systems. As leader of this team you will be putting forth and implementing foundational strategies while ensuring that real-time communication challenges are handled and resolved in the most efficient way possible.
Responsibilities: •Actively participate in managing the worldwide deployment of core network services to all employees •Work closely with the engineering team, operations team, vendors and systems architects in designing and managing the company's network platform •Lead Infrastructure Technology staff responsible for functional & technical end user service design, implementation and operations for all internal customers •Set the team's metrics strategy •Day-to-day leadership for a team of Engineers and Support Analysts responsible for the care and support of LinkedIn's internal network •Manage smaller upgrade/maintenance projects as assigned, including timeline, scope, resources, risk, quality and customer expectations; assembles communication plans for all employees •Provide design input to initiation and analysis activities including project concept development, benefit analysis and associated RFI and RFPs •Set and ensure all IT standards and best practices are followed •Work closely with core IT functions (i. . architecture, applications, compute, client engineering and security) and managers of related initiatives to ensure proper integration •Participate in discussions regarding current and anticipated service requirements and alternative approaches •Communicate plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis •Plan and evaluate work of technical and other support staff •Administer performance appraisals, training, vacation schedules and requests, OKRs, etc. •Disseminate and enforce standards for Information Technology in Business Units •Mentor Network engineers in technology and professional development.
Basic Qualifications:
•BS/BA degree or equivalent practical experience •4+ years of managing and leading teams •10+ years experience working with multi vendor network technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto and Aruba Networks
Preferred Qualifications:
•Extensive global enterprise networking background •Demonstrated understanding of network security including risk management and compliance •Proven ability to manage a team of Engineers •Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical people. Skills in writing concise, understandable, technical documentation •Ability to work independently, keeping track of a number of continuing problems, requests, and projects •Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both as a leader, an individual and a team member to achieve the goals of the Enterprise •Experience working with cross-functional, global teams •Ability to work with different technology vendors and experience in negotiating with the vendors •Superior problem solving and conflict management skills •Excellent communication and presentation skills •Basic familiarity with ITSM processes is a plus
