Current Need
Network System Administrator

Position Description
-Concentrates on the overall health of the network & ensuring network connectivity

-Responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware & software comprising a computer network, including the deployment, configuration, maintenance & monitoring of network equipment

-Proposes & implements system enhancements (software & hardware updates) that will improve the performance & reliability of the system

-Supports break/fix issues reported through customer or ticketing system

-Manages & implements configurations for servers, switches, routers, etc.

-Coordinates & confirms hardware & software orders, cable installations, monitoring, testing, & servicing

-Places orders with common carriers

-Trains other employees on system

-May support managing other products on the network, as applicable

-May define, design, and/or implement network communications & solutions


Minimum Requirements
4+ years experience in network systems administration

Additional Knowledge & Skills
-Comprehensive knowledge of routing, switching & networking

-Detailed knowledge of the definition, design, & implementation of network communications & solutions

-Understanding of the inter-connectivity & all pieces of the puzzle (e.g., knowledge of interdependencies within a network to be able to solve problems independently)

-In-depth knowledge of McKesson monitoring systems to be able to conduct analyses

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
