NeuWave Medical, a division of Ethicon US, LLC, is seeking a Research & Development / Engineering Intern.  NeuWave develops minimally invasive, advanced hardware and software technology with critical subsystems and components that are used during clinical hospital procedures.

The Research & Development (R&D) Intern will assist with data collection, testing, and documentation of various projects. This individual in this position will work with full-time engineers with testing design and documentation, and may be assigned small design projects based on skill set.

The R&D Intern will:

  • Perform ex vivo ablation data collection, recording, and measuring.
  • Write, update, and execute verification and miscellaneous test protocols, as needed.
  • Organize and perform necessary testing for smaller projects.
  • Free form testing of new products to find issues.
  • Other projects may be available, based on workload and each intern's education and experience.
  • Be exposed to various other functions within the larger R&D team.

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing an Engineering degree / related program.
  • Candidates must be available to work part-time during the school year (hours and schedules may be flexible).
  • Sophomore standing or higher desired.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future. 
  • Candidates must thoroughly understand and consistently follow directions in the protocol and ask questions to ensure understanding and appropriate application.
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, have excellent documentation skills, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team.
  • Candidates need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (including a high proficiency with generating pivot tables and graphs), and Power Point.
  • A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Participation in campus/community service activities is desired.
