Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program. Our 14 week Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship.
As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities.
During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. At successful program completion, you will be a valued team member with specialty training, established relationships and familiarity with our values and culture. Part 1 - Classroom Training (First 7-10 weeks: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with intermittent home study days)
Instructor-led classroom training State-of-the-art simulation including comprehensive debriefs Self-directed learning
Part 2 - Clinical Preceptorship (Remainder of program: 3 - 12 hours shifts, Rotating Shifts)
Conducted in the assigned unit at the hospital Regular development meetings between the student, the preceptor and your Director Program acceptance requires a two (2) year commitment to Ogden Regional Medical Center. Qualifications:
- Obtain licensure as an RN in Utah within first 7 weeks of program start date
- Applicants may apply for the program prior to passing the NCLEX exam
- Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
- Acceptance into the program requires a two year commitment to Ogden Regional Medical Center
