PANASONIC AVIONICS is currently in search of a Sr. Cisco Network Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire position based out of corporate headquarters located at 26200 Enterprise Way, Lake Forest, CA 92630.

What you will be doing:
Selected candidate will develop and maintain a high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical Network Operations Architecture, working with strategic decision makers inside product support engineering & advanced systems engineering groups. You will help provide a secure, reliable, scalable, flexible, maintainable and efficient customer facing Panasonic network operations footprint to meet current and strategic business objectives. You will also provide technical guidance and training to the implementation & operational support team members to ensure overall design consistency as well as support the 24/7 Network Operations /Mission Control Center.
Technical Responsibilities (30%)
Contribute towards strategic technical plans and strategies for the Network Operations & product support engineering teams, factoring in a strong knowledge of the future vision of the organization. Uses this information to significantly influence future network operations technology strategy.
Contributes towards PSE network operations technology strategy and gap analysis recommendations, commensurate with business direction, for presentation to senior engineering management.
Contributes towards recommendations and assessment of development/test/production ground based, airline customer facing environments for interrelated areas (server, storage, database, network, security) design, implementation, documentation (standards, processes, controls) and operational management of Network operations related products and services
Contributes feedback for PSE based solution options, trade-offs, design and implementation. Responsible for PSE application integration. Responsible for review and implementation of third party solutions or tools for PSE. Responsible for standards definition and review.
Strategy & Planning (30%)
Provides feedback and modifies PSE design and architecture to ensure compliance to relevant internal policies & contracted/ regulatory obligations; evaluates and recommends new products and presents to engineering stakeholders.
Provides advanced multi-disciplinary knowledge, skills and experience in technical architecture and design.
Contributes towards and recommends capacity planning for PSE customer facing, ground based technology systems.
Contributes towards strategies and direction for PSE customer facing, ground based customer systems and solutions using current and emerging technologies. Drives out inefficiencies and proposes and implements with relevant approvals, cost savings in airline customer facing platform, product and operational areas.
Acquisition & Deployment (30%)
Collaborates with Engineering, software development, other relevant internal business units and management to define business requirements for technical systems development and gain relevant buy-in for all strategic technical plans.
Brings technical knowledge from external sources and incorporates those ideas into Technical services.
Contributes towards PSE customer facing, ground based systems design efforts on technical solutions for the most complex projects, entailing high levels of risk, integrating multiple technologies and with broad, strategic impact across multiple customer areas.
Operational Management (10%)
Contributes towards architectural consulting expertise, direction and assistance to system analysts, system administrators and other engineering based architects.
Contributes towards and executes test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reports on findings and make recommendation for improvement.
Assists and guides in effort to move from reactionary to proactive (trouble-shooting environment to problem prevention).
Enables tighter business/technology alignment, better-quality decisions and the successful implementation of a customer facing, ground based systems architecture.
Qualifications:
What we require from you:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement (only if the experience is directly related to, and would be used toward fulfilling the duties of the position).
Minimum 7 progressive years of work experience in the information technology field; specifically in infrastructure technology service, operations and leadership type roles in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco based network environments
CCIE Certified candidates are highly preferred
Additional technical knowledge with Juniper, Linux (RedHat, CENTOS, Networking), and Databases (MySQL) is required.
Expertise of technology architecture and infrastructure standards with the proven ability to design hardware and software solutions, systems options and risks analyses in order to successfully integrate solution with business requirements.
Broad technical knowledge across all information technology related domains including Network, Security, Operations and Server/OS platforms including UNIX, Apple Mac & Windows, Enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, VTL), relational object database implementation & integration and virtualization technologies.
Advanced understanding of integration points and interfaces and ability to ensure that next generation technology allows for seamless integration.
Proven ability to translate business needs into technical architecture requirements.
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
Understands system analysis and synthesis, modeling, conceptualization.
Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.
Project/transition planning. Able to manage and coordinate key project elements.
Proven ability to operate across multiple projects concurrently and assume the responsibility for the appropriate technical and architectural implementation of projects.
Well-developed spoken and written interpersonal and communication skills, executive-level presentation skills.
