PayPal's Checkout team is looking for expert JavaScript engineers to help deliver innovative payment related experiences.

We're looking for talented NodeJS application developers with a passion for all things JavaScript and a desire to question all assumptions to make our products better across the board. We're continuously looking for ways to improve upon the foundation of our applications and deliver more reliable and more performant user experiences.

PayPal has been at the forefront of building large scale Node.js applications and building open source technologies such as Kraken.js. As part of our Online Payments team, you'll join us in our goal of making PayPal the best possible choice for paying online. We're looking for talent who are self-starters and deeply interested and passionate in the newest of web technologies. Our extensive engineering team pours energy into these products and we want people to join us who want to be a part of how we build web experiences at PayPal. Job Requirements:
  • Expert in developing Node.js applications.
  • Experience with high volume applications preferred.
  • More than 4 years of work experience in developing web applications.
  • Strong understanding of NPM and modular application development skills building.
  • Experience with libraries such as Babel, Underscore / Lodash, and Webpack.
  • Expert of task running tools such as Gulp and Grunt, along with automation testing frameworks.
  • Familiar building single page applications using Angular or React.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation tools and debugging tools for JavaScript applications both at development time or in production.
  • A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things.

  • BS in EE/CS with minimum of 6 years (or MS) experience in fast-paced software industry with an understanding of QA methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles and Scrum process
  • Partner closely with cross functional partners in product, analytics and architecture
  • Build reusable modules for both client and server side usage
