Role Summary:

Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space.

We presently have an opening for a 2nd shift Inspector 3, working from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

+ Perform all Norwich Inspector Level 2 functions in addition to Level 3 as required within the department

+ Train Level 2 employees, and work with limited supervision

+ Assist in leading Team initiatives

+ Produce & verify that piece parts are acceptable and produced within print & specifications

+ Perform duties on more complex, prototype or first time builds

+ Perform final inspection responsibilities as required by area

+ Perform and document First Article inspections as required

+ Perform hardness testing as required

+ Conduct complex testing may include (i.e. - surge test, di-electric, hipot, helium leak check, ATP, etc.) as required

+ Complete understanding of operation of all inspection equipment within the department

+ Perform manual set up, test, and troubleshooting which includes performance testing and trim grind

+ More frequent interaction with internal and / or external customers and support functions (i.e. - Planners, Engineering, Suppliers) outside of home department

+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ High School Diploma / GED

+ Norwich Inspector knowledge, levels 1-3OR

+ Prior Vocational / Trade School training that supports Norwich Inspector Level 3

+ Minimum 3 years of experience in Inspection

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Ability and willingness to work 2nd Shift

+ Proficient in performing Norwich Inspector Level 2 responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successfully perform Level 3 responsibilities

+ Ability and willingness to use intermediate hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - optical comparators, ohm meters, varian leak check, CMM's) as required within department

+ Intermediate knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances

+ Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation

+ Ability and willingness to become certified in varian and leak checks

Desired Characteristics:

+ Prior experience in customer requirements

+ Prior audit experience

+ Prior inspection experience required, preferably 3-5 years of experience

+ Ability and willingness to hold up to 5-6 lbs, occasional lifting of heavy rigs up to 35 lbs

+ Ability and willingness to push / pull up to 10 lbs
