We presently have an opening for a Manual Machine Operator 3 on 1st shift working from 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
In this role, you will:
+ Perform all Norwich Manual Machine Operator level 1 & 2 functions, in addition to level 3
+ Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
+ Assist in leading Team initiatives
+ Plan sequence of operations to produce part(s)
+ Set up and operate all manual equipment (i.e. - lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, hand tools to fabricate parts and tools, etc.)
+ Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM
+ Ensure speeds, feeds, and tooling is correct for material being processed
+ Compliantly troubleshoot tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary
+ May perform duties on more complex prototypes or first time builds
+ High School Diploma / GED
+ NOR Manual Machine Operator knowledge, levels 1 and 2OR
+ Prior Vocational / Trade School training that supports level 1-2 knowledge
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in Machine Shop Operations
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
+ Ability and willingness to perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc.
+ Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
+ Prior experience in a self-directed teaming environment
+ Past experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Knowledge in machine shop operations, preferably 3-5 years of experience
+ Lean manufacturing knowledge.
+ Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations
