This position is for overnight work on an 8pm-8am shift working an alternating 3 days on, 4 days off/4 days on, 3 days off schedule. Role Responsibilities - Collaborate with peers, team leads, and engineers, and third party vendors to resolve customer issues, maintaining complete ownership of issues from beginning to resolution - Follow up with customers to ensure accurate resolution for their technical issues - Ability to troubleshoot hardware failures and replace server parts to restore service - Support physical and virtual servers running Windows 2008, 2008r2, 2012, and 2012r2 in stand-alone and clustered configurations - Support physical and virtual servers running Red Hat 5, 6, and 7 in stand-alone and clustered configurations - Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and business impact to both IT peers, non-technical managers, and end-users Requirements - 5 years’ experience supporting systems in a large datacenter (2500 systems) - 5 years’ experience supporting Windows systems with at least 2 years’ experience with Windows 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 or 2012 R2 - 5 years’ experience supporting Linux systems with at least 2 years’ experience with Red Hat 5, 6 or 7 - Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with proven experience interacting with a range of personalities and styles, to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization - Able to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures, grasp technical concepts, and adapt easily to change - Able to manage competing demands, multiple priorities, while remaining adaptable and flexible Preferences - Technical related experience or degree - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in 2008 or 2012 - LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 or CompTIA Linux or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) Dell is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: Dell is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
