Job Description

The Audit Readiness & Response team is a fast paced team in the WBT Process, Risk, Control & Governance Mgmt world within the Wholesale & Wealth and Investment Management Technology Organization. AR&R partners with Reviewers (WF Audit Services, SOX, FLOD, Regulators, etc.), Risk, and Wholesale Technology to participate in the review lifecycle. This includes audits and reviews, observation analysis, issue validations, and the corrective action (CA) creation, remediation, monitoring, and closure process.

This Operational Risk Consultant will consult with and help meet business needs by providing risk based consulting, recommendations, and participate in initiatives to meet operational risk objectives deemed critical to the WWT organization.

Duties include:
  • Interface with Audit and other compliance reviewers, Operational Risk, Technology, Technology business partners, governance councils, and additional compliance teams through the review lifecycle.

  • Provide assistance with gathering required reviewer information or escalations during a review process.

  • Attend reviewer meetings related to informational gathering, status, and observation validation functioning in a consultant capacity.

  • Partner with Technology and key players to analyze, validate, and update documentation related to reviewer identified issues.

  • Consult and create with our technology partners CAs to effectively mitigate risk.

  • Track CA milestones ensuring CAs are on track during CA remediation process, escalating when necessary.

  • Consult and create with our technology partners Issue and CA closing documentation.

  • Partner with validators ensuring Issue and CA validation questions and additional evidence requests are addressed promptly.

  • Consult and create with our technology partners CA and Issue extension requests.

  • Drive Issues, CAs, extension requests, etc. through the designated approval process.

  • Credibly challenge through all part of this process.

  • Issue & CA Reporting and Tracking

  • Status reporting at CTO & CIO levels

  • Documentation creation and cleanup

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating, monitoring, and closing Issues and corrective actions in the Risk Mgmt world at Wells Fargo.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple strategic and potentially complex initiatives simultaneously and drive issue resolution.
  • Awareness & understanding of compliance requirements, and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with team members collaboratively, work through problems and reach decisions that mitigate risk while being in the best interest of the customers supported.
  • Wells Fargo Wholesale Technology and Risk experience, including successful partnership with technology partners, line of business, internal audit, operational, compliance, and risk management.
  • Knowledge or experience with some of Wells Fargo risk management and technology platforms and processes such as SHRP, Tableau, WAM, ISPEM submission, Security Plan updates, etc.
  • Relationship management – proven track record of building relationships with multiple lines of business, technology, audit, and risk within all levels of the organizational hierarchy including upper levels of management.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high volume, high paced dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter with willingness to push forward through challenges.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience leading meetings with partners at multiple levels of the organization in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Proven success working with people at remote locations with limited in-person interaction.
