Job Description

Wells Fargo's Corporate Asset/Liability Management (ALM) Group is looking for a highly motivated individual with data management and sharp analytical skills to leverage in the areas of interest rate risk (IRR) management, balance sheet dynamics, and economic analysis.

The Corporate ALM Group performs quantitative analysis of the company balance sheet behavior and has a primary responsibility to measure its risk and design risk management strategies. Team members oversee the IRR simulation models of the company's major business lines, provide management with insight concerning changes that they see in the risk profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.

This Data Integrity Consultant 2 role is responsible for understanding and supporting the data used in the ALM processes and reporting, and ensuring the integrity of the data. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, sound critical thinking, outstanding analytical skills, and solid problem-solving capabilities are required.

Responsibilities include:
• Support compliance with department and enterprise data governance and quality standards and reporting requirements of various Well Fargo groups such as Enterprise Controls & Oversight (EC&O), Governance and Oversight (G&O) which covers the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) principals for risk data aggregation, Operational Risk, Wells Fargo Audit Services and any enterprise initiatives.
• Manage resolution of data issues at the enterprise level in a complex multi-systems environment, including ensuring timely recording and status reporting of issues or changes that must be recorded in the enterprise issues management platform (SHRP) and/or reported to the Corporate Enterprise Risk Group.
• Manage or coordinate materiality assessment of data errors or changes, including ensuring performance and documentation of any required impact analyses.
• Support validation of issue corrective actions, including collecting and reviewing evidence.
• Support information security management, including facilitating user access certifications and updating information security plans.
• Support management, update and simulation of business and technology business continuity plans.
• Develop or support development of business requirements for data administration, management, governance or reporting.
• Perform or support other governance, controls and data integrity tasks of the department.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, querying, data warehousing, ETL process, requirements gathering and/or decision support tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance program development and implementation in a large organization across multiple business functions
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship

Other Desired Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of internal controls, including knowledge of COSO.
• Knowledge of financial institution balance sheet fundamentals, product offerings, and ALM practices
• Experience in reporting and analysis of large datasets and ETL process flows in a multi-systems environment
• Excellent data analytics skills, including ability to query and profile data, and measure and monitor data quality
• Superior critical thinking skills, fast learner and ability to take on new challenges as needed
• Detail oriented, accurate, organized, excellent judgment
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle or similar relational database platforms
• Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase
• Excellent data analytics skills, including ability to query and profile data, and measure and monitor data quality
• Knowledge of metadata tools such as Ab Initio Metadata Hub
• Knowledge of data quality analysis tools such as Informatica Data Quality products
