Seeking A Highly Skilled Operations Manager
A local Montgomery County company is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager with aerospace experience to direct and manage all plant operations.
Responsibilities include creating and reporting departmental budgets and capital plans, ensuring customer satisfaction, monitoring cycle times, improving efficiencies, building and mentoring supervisory teams, developing practices which encourage teams to strive for operational excellence throughout the organization while adhering to strict safety and quality protocols.
Directly supervises all associates within the Manufacturing and Maintenance departments.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and counseling; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Contributes to, and actively participates in, the organization's strategic process and initiative implementation.
Participates in goal setting for the organization; participates in and manages goal achievement and communicates the strategic vision and expectations to subordinates/ team. Then effectively establishes action-plan steps to achieve goals.
Instinctively steps forward to improve the performance of the organization by attracting people to follow her or him through guiding, coaching, directing, influencing, and empowering the human resources of the organization.
Creates an environment through coaching that motivates associates to embrace change and continuous improvement.
Seeks all necessary information required in order to make a good decision using an analytical and/or logical processes.
Requirements of Position:
Master's Degree in Engineering preferred but will consider a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field plus 10 years' experience in an aerospace environment.
Experience in sheet metal fabrication.
Proven track record of leading and developing teams to their highest potential level
Proven teambuilding skills with immediate team and in peer groups.
Documented examples of successfully driving change within organizations
Advanced organizational skills to be able to detail elements of a successful plan. Laser focus on priorities along with follow up skills to track assignments to completion & the ability to revise plans mid-stream if needed to achieve desired results.
Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with a positive attitude to achieve personal and team goals.
Refined organizational skills and ability to manage, prioritize, schedule and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Complex problem solving skills.
Experience with low volume, high mix environment to drive (Quality at the source, Trend/Pareto/action plans, and flow improvement).
Technical skills including machining, forming, welding, and heat treating.
Experience with Value Stream Mapping/Kaizen/SMED/5S/Pull Systems.
Experience with AS9100/TS16949/ISO9001, etc.
