An Operations Manager job is available located in Santa Ana,CA with our client, a leading manufacturer within aerospace. Seeking promotable candidates with strong operational management background. Must have 5+ years manufacturing experience (aerospace, forging, machining backgrounds preferred). The key role you will be responsible for to ensures throughput targets are achieved in a safe, timely, quality, cost efficient and productive manner. Manage production schedules to fulfill orders; is accountable for the achievement of area performance objectives, product quality and variable costs; ensures employees are accurately trained, assigned specific duties, coached, disciplined, and rewarded; and always optimizes equipment availability, cycle times, and overall continual improvement.

The Operations Manager job responsibilities include:

Works with support departments to ensure that all area production methods and practices are consistent with internal quality standards, and customer requirements.
Analyzes, establishes, and communicates performance standards for area of responsibility.
Control the flow of product, materials and labor utilization in the business unit to maximize productivity and minimize cost while achieving safety, quality, inventory and throughput targets.
Leads the team in developing and implementing effective systems for improving internal and external quality, cost improvements and on-time delivery to the customer requirements.
Analyze variable labor costs daily, work with supervisors to determine required staffing levels and support labor re-allocation across the plant as required.
Supports a zero injury culture by pro-actively complying with all environmental safe practices and regulations. Reads all MSDS' and possesses thorough knowledge of all oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements. Conducts EH&S self-inspection and safety huddles in areas of responsibility.


B.S. or B.A. Degree
Supervisory experience leading teams of 70+ people; Performance management skills.
Intermediate use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and QAD; other productivity tools.
Quality focused & production driven.
