ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
Master Data Responsibilities
Reviews of Component Waste Factors and Routing Throughputs
Maintenance of any SAP master data related to standard costs (Intercompany freight/customs/duties factors, intercompany markup factors, standard cost pricing for raw materials, alternate costing production versions, etc.)
Constructs BOMs and Routings in SAP for new PD&I (Product Development & Innovation) and Semi Finished products as well as maintains BOM and routing changes for PD&I, Semi Finished products, and, Finished goods ¿ including, but not limited to: master data changes, conversion changes, waste % changes and uniformity, throughput (TP) changes and uniformity, multi-level BOM follow-through, etc.
Interprets and validates PD&I Specifications used to create new BOM and Routings for PD&I materials; audits for accuracy between SAP and the Specification Database; performs all conversions necessary to translate the specification into the SAP BOM and/or Routing; and also examines the specifications themselves for accuracy. Is responsible to understand the PD&I specification ¿ why it calls for what it does - and challenge anything that seems incorrect or inconsistent.
Understands cost impact of changing BOMs and Routings as well as impact on production orders, inventory values, and variances
Ensures BOM component, waste % and Routing throughput (TP) consistency and uniformity between items within a product type
Continuously conducts BOM and Routing audits to ensure accuracy of all items
Ensures PD&I specification system agrees with PD&I BOM in SAP
Actively engages in cross functional communication to ensure accuracy and timely creation and maintenance of BOMs and routings
Analyzes all BOM and routing change requests to ensure that each level of the multi-level BOM is changed in accordance with the requested change and ensures that the change request is necessary
Facilitates any discussions that are required to resolve issues relating to BOM and Routing creation and maintenance
Standard Cost Determination
Reviews product cost inputs and calculates standard costs (Individual and Mass Cost Rolls)
Calculates and updates intercompany product costs (Individual and Mass Cost Rolls)
Responds to requests or performs tasks as assigned through intercompany work flow tools
Analyzes and costs manufacturing production orders following company's costing system
Compares manufacturing expenses to forecast
Analyzes variances from cost estimates; prepares summaries for plant managers and senior accounting personnel.
Prepares Weekly Manufacturing Variance and Scrap/Inventory Adjustment reporting
Performs Period-end duties related to settling production orders in SAP
Variance analysis including PPV, inventory price changes, rework, etc.
Performs ad-hoc costing analysis
Prepares individual finished goods quotes for potential new business
Manages quoting for Line Review or other Mass Bid Submissions and Proposals for potential new retail business
Prepares Cost Modelling as requested by internal business customers
Assists in rolling forecast process including the review of manufacturing inputs (Bills of materials and routings)

Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business; or Progressing to Complete degree with comparable work experience
3-5 Years of Experience in Cost Accounting and/or working with BOMs & Routings
Excel experience required, experience with an Enterprise Requirement Planning system such as SAP experience preferred
Detail-oriented and Organized, with strong analytical and decision making ability
High energy, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, while being assertive in a team environment
Able to work well with others
Strong understanding of Cost Accounting
