Optics Test Engineer
As an Optics Test Engineer in the Silicon Photonics Product Division, you will be responsible for the architect of the test methodologies and test development for manufacturing and product development. This job requires work closely with manufacturing, development, and reliability groups. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Define product characterization and test methodology; develop techniques to characterize high-speed optical transmitters, receivers and transceiver modules above 10 Gb/s data rate Cross-functional communications with design manufacturing, development and reliability teams in a fast-paced and challenging professional environment Define production test requirements per the product specifications, and enable the manufacturing production test capability. Review and design implementations for product manufacturability and test (DFM and DFT) Perform optical, electrical, and mechanical assessments of photonic solutions with the goal of bringing the technology to a production environment Equipment evaluation and make recommendations for capital procurement Qualifications: Must have at least a MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related technical discipline Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in the optical communication related testing and characterizations Additional Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with optical communication components and/or systems, Ethernet and Fiber Channel applications and standards Familiar with semiconductor lasers, electro-optic modulators, and PIN/APD receivers
