Oracle CPQ Solution Architect
Location: United States
Travel: 30-80%

As the leader in CPQ, only Oracle delivers a full solution to manage the entire Quote-to-Cash process, from configure, quoting, and proposal to order fulfillment. Whether you sell through direct sales, partner channels, online stores, or all three, it works the way your business works. Oracle CPQ Cloud and its industry-leading BigMachines products is the latest addition to an entire suite of integrated cloud solutions spanning the customer experience (CX).

Solution Architects are responsible for working with our clients to understand their business environments, processes, products and services for which the Oracle CPQ solution will be implemented. They influence client direction in a manner that best leverages Oracle CPQ functionality while delivering a benefit to our clients and avoiding pitfall areas. They develop the high level solution approach and work with the client and implementation consultants on detailed designs which are needed in order to achieve the desired results. They also assess integration requirements and design the Oracle CPQ side of required integration, leveraging standard APIs wherever possible. Beyond architect work, they are expected to position and assist on up sell / cross sell activities within an account, as well as in the pursuit of new sales.

Solution architects fulfill the role of a technical lead on a project, and depending on the nature of the project, may perform the role of the overall project lead.

An Oracle solution architect would typically evolve into this role after honing their skills through working several years as an Oracle implementation consultant.

Candidates should have delivered multiple full lifecycle projects in a consulting solution architect role. They must have strong client facing skills, strong communication skills and ideally have experience in consulting in the sales process space (CRM, but may consider ERP depending on other experience). Travel associated with the role can be from 30 to 80%, depending on the client location.

In addition to solution architect experience, candidates should have experience with Oracle CPQ, or some combination of the following, where they played the role of a solution architect:

• Consulting (software and services)
• Packaged software implementation
• CRM and/or ERP
• Non Oracle CPQ
• Configurator
