Designs studies, analyzes and reports pharmacoeconomic and disease management information at the request of internal and external customers. Provides hematology/oncology clinical analysis expertise to pharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care, US Oncology corporate departments, physician and clinical leadership. Conducts pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research. Develops models for cancer treatment alternatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Works independently and under the supervision of the Lead, Outcomes Researcher
Writes proposals, protocols and establishes effective timelines for delivery of studies.
Researches and performs critical and statistical analysis of medical and scientific evidence as the basis for disease management guidelines, P&T Committee actions, and pharma-coeconomic comparisons of cancer therapies and regimens.
Develops pharma-coeconomic models for cancer treatment alternatives for use in pay for performance, case rating, capitation forecasts, and cost of goods sold impact analyses
Works with study sponsors to identify and refine study concepts
Conducts and publishes the results of outcomes research
Designs data layout for each study (including data elements and sample size) based on required data elements from customers
Obtains raw data from available sources (primarily iKnowMed and Financial Data Warehouse).
Audits database contents for accuracy and validity.
Analyzes data to answer questions posed by internal or external questions
Formats output of data analysis for customer readiness, including reports, presentations, and manuscripts
6+ years experience in clinical/healthcare field, computer applications, designing, building, and implementing business solutions using information technology. Significant experience in business analysis and definition and deployment of business requirements to information systems.
Masters degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Healthcare Economics or related clinical discipline.
Outcomes research and pharmacoeconomic training
(2-5) years experience in writing and completing studies required
Experience in database, SAS, and Excel, TreeAge, desired.
Pharmaceutical or CRO experience required
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Solid oral and written communication skills. Position will require customer interaction either by phone or in personPharm D or Ph. D. preferred
4-year degree in nursing or healthcare-related field or equivalent experience
