To lead the planning, process development and implementation of Planned Maintenance Elements in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment, through teams consisting of various technical and non-technical Unilever personnel, and key support contractors. Develop and maintain positive, professional, and productive working relationships with key suppliers (packaging OEM’s, outsourced maintenance services, etc.).
Supports and participates in safety activities to achieve departmental and plant wide goals.
Works closely with all production management maximizing use of equipment downtime and plant shutdowns. Ensures proper scheduling of personnel for project implementation.
Utilizes Kronos Timekeeping System to maintain weekly record of hours worked, along with explanation of overtime hours worked and ensures hours worked, vacation, personal hours, absences, etc. are correctly documented so employees are paid accurately
To lead highly technical, high performing teams of skilled crafts. Ensures proper scheduling of personnel for all maintenance and repair activities. Manage PM Program for maintenance areas of responsibility. Works closely with all production management maximizing use of equipment downtime and plant shutdowns. Ensures proper scheduling of personnel for project implementation.
To lead the identification, planning, and implementation of capital projects in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment, through teams consisting of various technical and non-technical Unilever personnel, and key support contractors. Projects should be prioritized to attack key factory losses or support needed infrastructure improvements, and the individual will also contribute by identifying projects with direct and positive impact to the site.
Participates in WCM activities, including participation on or leadership of key pillars, FI teams, pillar subcommittees, and/or capital projects. Work closely with Unilever Engineering (Project Delivery) & Category Engineering (Technology & Commissioning) for OTIF project delivery using EEM principles.
Key performance metrics for this position include project delivery OTIF, Electricity/Water/Gas reduction, OEE improvement. Predictive and Time Based Preventative compliance measures, work-order completion rates, and labor utilization metrics will also be used to evaluate performance of the leader in this position.
Ensure employees and contractors are following Unilever safety, quality, hygienic and environmental standards in the maintenance and repair of the factory equipment.
Manages effectiveness of team assignment & training.
Leads safety & environmental stewardship agenda of the site.
Leads the application of RCA to resolve technical problems in facility, packing, and process areas.
Identify continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities.
Manages predictive and preventative maintenance technologies and programs.
Coordinates the design of equipment upgrades and improvements.
Manages outside contractors working at the facility.
Reviews and coordinates work requisitions and other related requests for feasibility, approval and assigns priorities and assignments.
Fostering positive employee relations.
Promoting and maintaining 100% Asset Reliability Culture: ZERO Accidents, ZERO Breakdowns, ZERO Env Incidents, Etc.
Utilize EEM process to implement capital projects with delivered product at AM Step 3.
Lead troubleshooting activities using WCM tools (5W2H, 5Why, etc.) related to equipment failures, reliability, through-put and quality problems.
Coach and counsel employees on job performance and teamwork.
Educate employees in Unilever business goals and priorities and lead change activities.
Assist in the development of plant budgets and maintains expenditures within goals.
Provides input and assists in the preparation of departmental budget.
Utilization of Work Day tools in daily work
Utilization of applicable systems to perform daily tasks as required (SAP, ARIBA, Time and Attendance, GTES, etc)
Capital project deliverables are closely tied to key site performance strategies.
BA, BS or BE degree from an accredited college or university is required (engineering preferred)
Three years project engineering or supervisory experience, in manufacturing.
Proficiency in the use of PC software is required; automation controls, electrical or mechanical maintenance experience is preferred.

World Class Manufacturing experience preferred. (Continuous Improvement background).
Experience in both process and packaging operations a plus.
Experience in new line installation and commissioning a plus.
Experience working with Electrical or Automation Trades a plus
