Adecco Group has an opening for a Paralegal contract position in Plano TX with a National client. Pay rate is $40.29 per hour. This is a one year contract *The position could be extended based on work volume and performance.

Job Description:

Position Summary:

Support of the Compliance and Regulatory functions, as well as serving as the liaison to the Business Units.
Develop and monitor compliance practices and policies for all areas of TFS ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state legal and regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring proposed and enacted changes to federal and all 50 states' statutes, regulations and regulator-issued guidance; and reviewing online resources from industry trade associations, regulatory resources, and financial services related research publications.
Research compliance issues for finance products in development; monitor legal/regulatory changes impacting existing finance products.
Support Corporate Counsel in ensuring that TFS is in compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes and regulations.
Provide process by which compliance training for all TFS Team members is completed within the set timelines.
Provide support to TFS litigation group including gathering information and data to respond to discovery requests, provide data, information and reports to our insurance carriers and/or third party administrator, enter and retrieve data in TFS systems, assist in the handling of first and third party legal claims, assist with TFS' tender of defense as appropriate and provide other assistance with litigation matters as needed.
Assist in the preparation of reports regarding litigation for public accountants, SEC reporting or other purposes as needed.
Proactively recommend changes to policies and procedures based on industry best practices and upcoming changes to regulations and/or requirements.
Participate in project teams supporting implementation of new or revised regulations.
Ensure documentation and testing is reported to appropriate parties, including BOD, regulators, auditors, parent company, etc.
Conduct regular compliance risk assessments.

Administrative Support

Work with Corporate Council to develop and maintain a departmental Records Management system, including desk procedures for: file opening, file maintenance, archiving, retrieval and destruction.
Participate with department leadership on strategic and operational business planning for the legal department

Position requirements:

Five years compliance experience in banking or a federally regulated financial institution a plus
Three years of experience in documenting policies and procedures, legal record-keeping procedures and protocols a plus
Three years hands-on experience using online legal research tool (ex. Westlaw, Lexus Nexus) a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
