Adecco is assisting a local client in recruiting for a Pharmacy Tech in San Diego, CA. This is for a Long-term opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. The essential functions of a pharmacy technician in Prior Authorization are providing expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers. This position exists to take incoming requests for prior authorizations, for formulary and non-formulary medications, while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity. Request can be received via fax or telephone, from providers' offices and pharmacists. The position provides clinical review for authorizations in keeping with legal and contractual requirements, including but not limited to turn around times (TATs) and service level agreements (SLAs). The technician must provide the information clearly, accurately and in a professional manner. Interactions with callers must be documented per contractual and various regulatory / legal requirements. Performs the following tasks in a correct and timely fashion under the supervision of a pharmacist:
Contacts patients and/or caregivers to schedule a delivery and determine supply needs; Picks and packs medical supplies to fill patient orders; Accurately dispenses products in the computer system to generate a delivery ticket and/or prescription labels; Confirms delivery tickets after delivery.

Assists with product purchasing, inventory and equipment management. Orders the correct drug products from the wholesale company if requested. Knowledgeable of various vendors and where to get different supplies, medications and clean room needs. Verifies the accuracy of product orders received. Checks prices against contract and in the schedule of charges. Complies with the Option Care formulary. Cleans and tests infusion pumps. Assists with the system of tracking infusion pumps and medical equipment.

Requirements:
- Certification by the Board of Pharmacy
- Reliable Transportation
- Basic Microsoft Work, Excel and Power Point skills
- Willing to travel 5% of the time for business

- Temporary role: 30-60days
- Monday -Friday: 12pm to 6pm (30 hours/week)
